Gujarat Technological University (GTU) will organize Central (Inter-zonal) TechFest-2019 on 4th and 5th April, 2019 at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda coordinating with L.M. College of Pharmacy (LMCP) for Pharmacy Events on 18th -19th March, 2019 and Graduate school of Management Studies, GTU for management events on 4th and 5th April, 2019. This time Graduate school of management studies, GTU will manage MBA events. Participation will be around 18000 from Gujarat and all over India. This was stated by Prof.(Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU.
Zonal Techfest
GTU is always promoting the students to bring out and show their talent. TechFest is a good platform to convert students’ imagination into reality. From year 2014, GTU has decided to organize the TechFest in all five zones (Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, VVNagar, Rajkot and Surat) and one at Central level. Zonal Techfest will have 48 competitions in Engineering, Management and Pharmacy. More than 19,500 students have been registered for Total Prize Money of Rs. 3,00,000 at Zonal level.

GIC Events
GTU Innovation Council (GIC) promotes culture of innovation & entrepreneurship since a decade now. To accelerate this, now we have introduced some events in techfest which will help students to understand the business models and will also help them to groom their skills. These events will be conducted at regional level at GIT, SAL, VVP, Babaria and SCET College. GIC has proposed 3 events which are mentioned below:
1. TechPitch:
This event will give a clear idea of what the project/product will be, usually expressed in statements of work, Proof of concept, Prototypes, functional product specs, or their equivalents. Based on this clear idea, quality management can objectively determine if the product was "realized" and how efficient the process was.
2. IDP Expo:
As a part of the GTU Zonal TechFest 2019, GIC is carrying out an Industrial Defined Project (IDP) Expo to showcase the best innovations across GTU. The main objective of IDP Expo is to provide space for showing Innovative idea to bring solution for real industrial problems. Students need to come up with innovative solutions for the benefits of society and industry to showcase infront of faculty, mentors , industrial experts , GTU assistant professors. The real life solution can be taken as final year project as per GTU curriculum.
3. Patent Clinic:
As a part of the GTU Zonal TechFest 2019, GIC is carrying out a Patent Clinic to scout for the best innovations across GTU. The main goal of the Patent Clinic activity is to give a platform to the innovations and provide them security for their Intellectual Property, providing financial support for their patent and innovators learning the process of patent filing.
