For the first time, antenna design workshop was organized for students of GTU in Gujarat. Today is the time of the latest revolution in communication. Wireless communication has existed since the time of the codeless phones. And with the invention of the Internet, wireless communication has filled the void.
At present, there are many radio networks, where antennas are very widely used. The antenna is a very essential hardware for every wireless communication. Different size antennas are used to take data from different devices. Large dish antennas are used to take data from a satellite. So small size antennas are used to transfer data from mobile.For high data rate and seamless coverage, ultra wideband, multiband and high frequency antennas are required for commercial and defense applications. A special kind of workshop was organized by Gujarat Technological University to teach how to design an antenna for such different needs.
The 2 day antenna design using HFSS software was organized on October 5-6, 2019. Practical training was emphasized more in this two-day workshop. Special information was given about the micro strip patch antenna, which is used for devices such as mobiles.
A total of 93 students participated in this workshop, out of which 12 are faculty and 27 are PG students and the rest were UG's final year students. In this workshop Dr. Isro's Associate Director as Chief Guest. Nimesh Desai was present. In addition, Nirmana Prof. Dr. Dhaval Pujara was present to deliver the keynote speech. Dr. Dhaval's keynote was the latest trend on antenna. In this topic, IoT, machine learning and neural network signal received talk from the area. With this the entire workshop was organized by Prof. GEC, Gandhinagar. Conducted by Shahid Modasia.
The main reason behind conducting this workshop was to bring PG students, researchers, scientists, and researchers in the field. The workshop also discusses what is new, what is needed in the field of antenna designing. The workshop provided information on the Yogi - UDA, loop antenna, reflector antenna - that we use on a daily basis in TV, dish antennas and mobiles.
