Australia’s Top University knocking the door of GTU

Ahmedabad: University of Wollongong, Australia’s top rated University and GTU are going to join the hands for various research and academic collaborations. As the students mobility between Australia and India are increasing significantly with double digit growth since last few years, it is a high time when the top universities of Australia and India joins their hands for academic and research collaborations. Australia has also confirmed its presence as an official partner of upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2017

GTU and UoW will join hands for various research and academic collaborations, which aim to internalizing their efforts in both the countries. University of Wollongong is Australia’s top rated University and it has been featured under world’s top 2 % University as per QS ranking 2015/16. UoW is leading University in Australia having very strong research and development expertise in various academic domains. GTU, being state’s largest technological university have a strong infrastructure for innovation and research. So, looking at the strengths of both the universities, they have decided to collaborate in few specific areas.

The key areas of the collaboration would be the joint research projects in fields of Engineering and Management,  Joint Publications by the faculties and research scholars of both the universities, Involvement of UoW’s professors in GTU’s PhD program as co-supervisors, Academic exchange program for the students of GTU to University of Wollongong, Industry based Internship for the students of UoW to GTU, and participation of the students and faculties of both the universities in the research and academic scholarship programs at both the Universities. GTU is planning to establish advanced research centres in field of engineering shortly. So, UoW has also proposed to collaborate for establishing advance research labs in specific areas like Industrial Design, Mechatronics and Transportation.

On 10th November 2016, UoW has organized an academic meet at Mumbai and invited Dr. Rajul Gajjar, officiating Vice Chancellor, GTU for discussing and understanding these proposals to take them at next stage.
