Cheque of Rs. 42.09 lakh distributed to 8 innovative start-up projects of GTU

Many colleges of GTU including LDCE, LJIT and BVM receive awards under SSIP

Ahmedabad: “While C is for College, C is for career too. Gujarat government is making sure to ensure that the capable youth in the state have access to quality education since each student of the state is a future asset with skill, will and zeal. Sky is the limit for study. Teaching has limit, but Learning has no limit”, Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani said.

Inaugurating the Grand Education Fair at Gujarat University Convention Centre in Ahmedabad, Mr. Rupani said that said that the state government is providing a 50% aid to the students under the ‘Mukhyamantri  Yuva Swavalamban Yojana’ for admissions in self finance colleges in the fields of engineering, medical, para-medical etc. The state government provides a yearly aid of Rs.800 crores for the said purpose. Rupani has made an important and a sensitive announcement to ensure that the bright youth of the state do not face any kind of difficulty in pursuing education due to financial problems. The state government shall provide a maximum financial aid of Rs. 5 lakhs for pursuing higher education to the orphans, children of widows, physically handicapped, and the children of all those police officers and soldiers who have lost their lives in serving the nation. He added that as many as 2500 students shall be benefitted by this every year.

The CM and various other dignitaries distributes cheques to the beneficiaries of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavlamban Yojana’ and the ‘Gujarat Technological University Startup and Innovation’ scheme. Cheque of Rs. 42.09 lakh distributed to 8 innovative start-up projects of GTU. Winners of NET (National Eligibility Test) and SLET (State Level Eligibility Test) were also honored during the event. Many colleges of GTU including LD College of Engineering, L.J. College and BVM College received awards under Student Start up and Innovation Policy.

9 thousand students have registered for various seminars in the education fair.  It is to be noted that there are 55 stalls of 44 universities, 64 stalls of higher and technical universities, 11 stalls of private and foreign consultants, 2 stalls of foreign councils, 4 stalls of banks, and 17 stalls of various other organizations along with 8 food stalls. As many as 84 thousand students shall be benefitted from this education fair.

Education Minister, Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that education is a slow and gradual process. The state of Gujarat has constantly ensured to bring progress in the education sector which is why the Gujarat Technological University has attained the topmost position in the country which is a matter of great pride.

Minister of State for Education Ms. Vibhavariben Dave, MLA Mr.Rakeshbhai Shah, Executive Director of Technical Education Ms. Sandhya Bhullar, Director of Higher Education Mr. Patel, Vice Chancellor of GTU Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University Dr. Himanshu Pandya and Principals of various colleges and universities and various teachers, professors, parents and students were present on the occasion.
