Convocation Preparation 2017

ISRO chairman to deliver Convocation address at GTU • Governor to preside: Around 8000 students, parents, faculty members and staff to participate • Total 138 students will be awarded Gold Medal: 4353 students will be receiving degree in presentia • Total students getting degrees or diploma will be around 87,258 • For the first time Poland delegates will be present as special guests • First time in history of GTU number of PhD reached double digit

Ahmedabad: The Governor of Gujarat and Hon’ble Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) Shri Om Prakash Kohli will preside over the Convocation ceremony organised by GTU at Chandkheda campus on Thursday, 19th January, 2017. Total 138 students will be awarded Gold Medal for their most outstanding academic records. This year, 4353 students from various faculties graduating from various colleges in Gujarat will be receiving degree certificates on the occasion. Total number of students getting degrees or diploma will be around 87,258. Hon’ble Shri A.S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman, ISRO will be the Chief Guest for the Convocation Ceremony. He will deliver the Convocation Address on the occasion. Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of Gujarat will be guest of honour. All preparations have been made under guidance of Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU. For the first time in history of GTU number of receiving Doctorate has reached to double digit. This year 20 PhD will be conferred to students. This include students from Civil Engineering, Management, Computer Science, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Textile Engineering, Pharmacy, Civil Engineering students. Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has been the largest technological university of the state extending the opportunities to get the higher education in various technical programs like Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Compute Science, Pharmacy, Management, Planning, I.P.R., Different Integrated and Dual Degree programs and many more.
