MOU Signed with L & T for training to Civil, Mechanical & Electrical branch students
Ahmedabad: Engineering students of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) will get 10 days industrial internship training. GTU has signed an MOU with Larsen & Toubro for this purpose at Chandkheda campus, Ahmedabad on 21st December, 2017.
Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU, the MOU was signed by registrar Bipin Bhatt and representatives of L & T – Mr. Rajen Pandya and Mr. Srikant Jainapur. In first phase (which is going to be start from December-2017), internship will be provided to final and pre-final year undergraduate students of core branches Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Members of L & T will create branch-wise training module for this internship program. During internship program, students will be taught discipline oriented topics and how to work in industries and also visit to industries for their project. The training will be provided at Vadodara & Ahmedabad besides industrial visits at various places.
The duration of internship is of 10 days divided into 2 modules of 5 days each. For final year students, 10 days internship is going to start from 26/12/2017. GTU get the details of interested students for this internship program by online registration. For smooth functioning, the criteria of 6.5 CGPA/CPI (for final year students CGPA and for pre-final year it is CPI) is fix by GTU. For 10 days of internship, the fees to be pay by each registered student is Rs.8000/- + GST (18%). All interested and qualifying (criteria mentioned in point no.6 above) students have to pay fees by online mode within time given by GTU. GTU will provide this collected fees to L & T Power training institute by single amount. During internship, lunch and tea/biscuits will be provided to students by L & T Power training institute.
Accommodation (if required) for students will be managed by L & T Power training institute with fees of Rs.400/- per day per student. There will be separate floor for girl students. GTU will form batches of all registered students and will intimate to concerned students and colleges about schedule of their internship. Also, batch-wise students’ detail will be given to L & T Power training institute. L & T Power training institute has to provide daily attendance of students to GTU and it will be sent to concerned college. This attendance of student is considered as equivalent of presence in class/lab in college. There will be 2 faculty members per batch per branch who will remain with students during internship. The faculty members coming from out of station will be provided paid accommodation in Vadodara.
