GTU bags Award of the ‘Most Upcoming University in Western India’ from ASSOCHAM



Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has received the prestigious award of ‘Most Upcoming University in Western India’ from ASSOCHAM, an apex chamber of the nation. The event was held at Hyatt Regency, Kolkata, where Prof. (Dr.) S.D. Panchal, I/c Registrar of GTU accepted the award. By winning this award, the GTU has established its determination and dedication that it has towards honing every aspect of a student’s professional skills development & all round development including emotional intelligence, sociability, physical wellness and mental strength. I am happy that the work of GTU has been recognised at the national level, Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU reacted.


Chief Guest of the ceremony was Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi Hon'ble Governor of West Bengal. ASSOCHAM Excellence Award was hosted by Guest of Honor Dr. H P Kanoria, Chairman, Kanoria Foundation, Swami Vedatitananda, Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira, Belur, Mr. Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra, Co-Founder & Chancellor, Shobhit University, India in the presence of Mr. Taranjit Singh, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Eastern Region Education Council, Mr. Tamal Mukherjee, Chairman ASSOCHAM School Education Council- East, Ms. Perminder Jeet Kaur, Executive Secretary Education Council East and Director ASSOCHAM.


West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi said that, “there is increased realization on quality of education. Education has evolved with times. Technological interventions will help to take education to masses, propel economic and social growth and expand the educational social system. We have 497 million people in education seeking category within the age of 5-24 years or 37.1 per cent of country's total population. They form an important segment in accelerating economic growth.”


“India had immense potential to be an education hub and attract students and faculties across globe. In ancient days we had centres of excellence which attracted foreign learners. Time has come up again in the present age to build modern centres of excellence which will put increased focus on learning outcomes”, he added. Tripathi also released the ASSOCHAM Knowledge Report on the occasion. Heads of different educational institutions from all over the country and ASSOCHAM Education Council members were present at the one-day meet.
