Special meeting to be convene shortly for setting up a Center of excellence
Ahmedabad: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has signed MoU with a German company and will soon organise a meeting to set up a center of excellence that will contribute in Swachchh Bharat Mission through technology and skill development. GTU remain forefront in the mission as the university had earlier created 9000 toilets by 6000 students of 57 colleges.
Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU said that recently Swachchhata Hi Seva campaign was organised on third anniversary of Swachchh Bharat Mission. To fulfil the dream of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhiji, Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has started this Mission 3 years ago. Getting inspirations from the Mission, GTU has done efforts to contribute as a part of Social Responsibility. Now we are in process of establishing a center of excellence with the help of the German company. In India, Cleaning sector is unorganized. GTU with this MoU wants to bring world class technology and skills.
To accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage and to put focus on sanitation, the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October, 2014. The Mission Coordinator shall be Secretary, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MDWS) with two Sub-Missions – the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). The Mission aims to achieve a Swachh Bharat by 2019, as a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary. Swachhta Action Plan is a milestone initiative in mainstreaming Swachhta elements across all sectors of the Government in an elaborate, accountable, and sustained manner to realize the Swachh Bharat of Prime Minister’s vision and Gandhiji’s dream. As a part of the Mission, proposed Center of Excellence will have Three types of initiatives: One will be for entrepreneurs for manufacturing cleaning equipment and materials. Another training will be for Managers and Supervisors of Hotels and Corporates who have direct control over cleanliness. Third training will be for Housekeeping staff. GTU also planning to connect CED and Akhil Bhartiya safai kamdar unions in this initiative. National Skill Development Council has given green signal for these courses, Keyur Darji, In-charge of Center for Global Business Studies (CGBS) of GTU added.
સ્વચ્છ ભારત મિશનમાં ટેકનોલોજી અને કૌશલ્ય વિકાસક્ષેત્રે મહત્ત્વપૂર્ણ પ્રદાન કરવા જીટીયુના જર્મન કંપની સાથે કરાર
સેન્ટર ઑફ એક્સેલન્સ સ્થાપવા ટૂંકસમયમાં બેઠક યોજીને વ્યૂહરચના ઘડવામાં આવશે
અમદાવાદઃ ગુજરાત ટેકનોલોજીકલ યુનિવર્સિટી (જીટીયુ) પોતાની સામાજીક જવાબદારીના ભાગરૂપે સ્વચ્છ ભારત અભિયાનમાં મહત્ત્વપૂર્ણ પ્રદાન કરવામાં મોખરે રહી છે. અગાઉ જીટીયુની 57 કૉલેજોના આશરે છ હજાર વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ 107 ગામોમાં 9000 શૌચાલયોના નિર્માણમાં સિંહફાળો આપ્યો હતો. તે દિશામાં વધુ એક આગેકદમ માંડીને સ્વચ્છ ભારત મિશનમાં ટેકનોલોજી અને કૌશલ્ય વિકાસક્ષેત્રે મહત્ત્વપૂર્ણ પ્રદાન કરવા જીટીયુના જર્મન કંપની સાથે કરાર કર્યા છે.
જીટીયુના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલર પ્રો. (ડૉ) નવીન શેઠે આ માહિતી આપતા જણાવ્યું હતું કે સ્વચ્છ ભારત અભિયાનને ત્રણ વર્ષ પૂર્ણ થયા તે પ્રસંગે તાજેતરમાં –સ્વચ્છતા હી સેવા- પખવાડિયાની ઉજવણી થઈ હતી. રાષ્ટ્રપિતા મહાત્મા ગાંધીજીએ સ્વચ્છ ભારત માટે સેવેલા સ્વપ્નને સાકાર કરવા માનનીય વડા પ્રધાન શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ હાથ ધરેલા સ્વચ્છ ભારત અભિયાનમાંથી પ્રેરણા મેળવીને જીટીયુ જે કામગીરી બજાવી રહી છે, તેના ભાગરૂપે હવે જર્મનીની કાર્ચર કંપની સાથે કરાર કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. તે કંપની ગુજરાતમાં તાલીમ માટે સેન્ટર ઑફ એક્સેલન્સ સ્થાપવાની યોજના ધરાવે છે. ભારતમાં ક્લિનીંગ સેક્ટર અસંગઠિત છે. તેને વર્લ્ડ ક્લાસ ટેકનોલોજી અને કૌશલ્યોથી સુસજ્જ કરવા જીટીયુ જર્મન કંપનીના સહયોગમાં આ પગલું ઊઠાવી રહી છે.
નેશનલ સ્કીલ ડેવલપમેન્ટ કાઉન્સિલે જર્મન કંપનીના સહયોગથી સ્થપાનારા સેન્ટર ઑફ એક્સેલન્સ માટેના સૂચિત કોર્સને મંજૂરી આપી છે. આ કોર્સ ત્રણ પ્રકારના રહેશે, જેમાં એક કોર્સ ઉદ્યોગ સાહસિકો માટેનો હશે, કે જેમાં ક્લિનીંગ પ્રોડક્ટો બનાવવા ઈચ્છતા યુવક-યુવતીઓને તેને લગતી તાલીમ આપવામાં આવશે. બીજા પ્રકારના કોર્સમાં સ્વચ્છતાની કામગીરી પર દેખરેખ રાખનારા હોટેલો કે કોર્પોરેટ અથવા અન્ય કંપનીઓના મેનેજરો અને સુપરવાઈઝરોને તાલીમ આપવામાં આવશે. ત્રીજા કોર્સમાં સ્વચ્છતાની કામગીરીમાં સીધી રીતે સંકળાયેલા સફાઈ કામદારોને આવરી લેવામાં આવશે. આ કાર્યક્રમમાં સીઈડી અને અખિલ ભારતીય સફાઈ કામદાર સંગઠનોને પણ સાંકળી લેવામાં આવશે. ટૂંકસમયમાં જીટીયુમાં બેઠક યોજીને આ સેન્ટર ઑફ એક્સેલન્સની સ્થાપના માટેની વ્યૂહરચના ઘડવામાં આવશે, એમ જીટીયુના સેન્ટર ફોર ગ્લોબલ બિઝનેસ સ્ટડીઝ વિભાગના ઈન્ચાર્જ કેયુર દરજીએ ઉમેર્યું હતું.
