GTU professors will get training about Innovation in teaching mathematics

Ahmedabad: Professors of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) will get training about Innovation in teaching mathematics during 10th to 12th June, 2016.

Gujarat technological university is continuously engaged in innovating newer areas to improve the Quality of education. In traditional teaching methodology mathematics are being taught in short descriptive lectures and guided by formal syllabus prescribed at the start of the course. In this way students learn many topics in isolation. In the workshop, all the mathematical concepts are explained geometrically. The mathematical concepts are modelled using excel. The advantage of this system is that the participant can build mathematical models for visualization and animation without any knowledge of advance programming. The new teaching methodology has been developed by Mr Chanchal Das who has receive best paper award in the 9th mathematical conference on engineering at GTU. His another paper title “teaching mathematics in 21st century – an integrated approach” has been selected at world congress on engineering, to be held at imperial college, London. He has been appointed as advisor of GTU. This workshop targeted for faculty members from engineering colleges, Roma Thakur, GTU co-ordinator of the event said.
