GTU receives Best Robo-lab setup Award of All India council for Robotics & Automation

Gujarat Technological University has received the Best Robotics Lab setup Award from All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA) in STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics] Summit at NMDC Convention Centre, New Delhi. Prof. Raj Hakani, I/c of the Robotics Lab working under GTU Innovation Council accepted the award on behalf of GTU.


Prof.(Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU said that GTU is forefront in Robotics and Automation. We have set up advanced lab for Robotics. It is indeed matter of proud for us that our lab set up has been recognised as the best at national level by All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA). AICRA STEM Awards aim at building the future excellence of Robotics Education and developing Eco-system for robotics technology by felicitating achievements of Indian educational institutions, individuals and service providers for improving the quality of Education delivery in India, through visionary thinking, process innovation and disruptive technology. Its 1st time in India STEM Awards celebrate the exemplary work of the institutions and individuals. Sharing of good practices through this platform will surely help to raise the status of Robotics & Automation in education sector in India.


The Pannel who decided the award was included:

1. Dr. Rajiv sharma - Scientist G and head of Technology , DST

2. Dr. S K Saha - HOD Mechanical - IIT Delhi

3. Harpeet kaur - co founder of maker box

4. Dr. R K Agrawal, Ajay kumar garg college

5. Dr. SRABAN. Mukerjee, Director IMS engg college

In the panel discussion points discussed were: Project based learning, Competition based learning, STEM based learning, Hand on boot camp and workshop, Fablab, Robocon training and IoT based start up training. University/ institute has to arrange 2-3 day hand on workshop for students of Higher Secondary schools of surrounding region. GTU is already doing the work under cic3 - RAA ( Rastriya aviskar abhiyan).
