Ahmedabad: To increase skills in final year students during their Internship, in all technical courses Gujarat Technological University and other 3 universities have signed MoU with Engineering Council of India (ECI) of AICTE.
Members were Present during MoU were Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU, Ms. Chitrali Parmar, I/c Registrar of GTU, Dr. P. R. Swarup, Member Secretary, ECI, Dir. General of Construction Industry Development Council and Mr. Kamal Khokhani, MD — Akar InfoMedia Pvt. Ltd. This is the 4th MoU siged with GTU, before this ECI has signed MoU with Rajasthan Technical University, Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya and Sandip University.
Dr. P. R. Swarup said that they will need to create platform in Universities for student to create monitor Internship program with factor such as Productivity, Quality, Safety & Environment and Work Practice. They want to establish “Testing Body in University itself” in every Universities.
Government of India has declared the decision of making internship compulsory in Engineering in last July month. Now to implement the decision, an Action Plan has been planned. The implementation will start from 9th October, Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, GTU VC said.
Terms and Conditions mentioned in the MoU are:
GTU will invite Principal of all affiliated colleges and invitation letter will be also sent to deemed universities of Gujarat.
GTU will issue notification to various colleges about registration of students to ECI.
ECI will send GTU the new credit system to be applied for evaluation of students, weightage etc. to be decided by GTU keeping in view the system followed by other university.
ECI shall send GTU the ToR of the Board of Testing and Examination.
વિદ્યાર્થીઓની ફરજિયાત ઈન્ટર્નશીપના અમલ માટે એન્જીનિયરીંગ કાઉન્સિલ સાથે જીટીયુના કરાર
નવમી ઓક્ટોબરથી કરારનો અમલઃ મૂલ્યાંકન માટે નવી ક્રેડિટ સિસ્ટમ લાગુ કરવાનો નિર્ણય
અમદાવાદઃ એન્જીનિયરીંગ કૉલેજોના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે ઈન્ટર્નશીપ ફરજિયાત કરવાનો નિર્ણય કેન્દ્ર સરકારે ગત જુલાઈમાં જાહેર કર્યો તેના અમલીકરણ માટે ઑલ ઈન્ડિયા કાઉન્સિલ ઑફ ટેકનિકલ એજ્યુકેશન (એઆઈસીટીઈ) તરફથી એક્શન પ્લાન ઘડી કાઢવામાં આવ્યો છે અને તેના ભાગરૂપે એઆઈસીટીઈની સંસ્થા એન્જીનિયરીંગ કાઉન્સિલ ઑફ ઈન્ડિયા (ઈસીઆઈ)એ દેશની ચાર યુનિવર્સિટીઓ સાથે કરાર કર્યા છે. આ ચાર યુનિવર્સિટીઓમાં ગુજરાત ટેકનોલોજીકલ યુનિવર્સિટી (જીટીયુ)નો પણ સમાવેશ થાય છે. કરારમાં સહભાગી બનાવવામાં આવેલી અન્ય ત્રણ યુનિવર્સિટીઓમાં રાજસ્થાન ટેકનિકલ યુનિવર્સિટી, રાજીવ ગાંધી પ્રૌદ્યોગિકી વિશ્વવિદ્યાલય અને સંદીપ યુનિવર્સિટી પણ સામેલ છે.
ઈસીઆઈની કન્સ્ટ્રક્શન ઈન્ડસ્ટ્રી ડેવલપમેન્ટ કાઉન્સિલના ડિરેક્ટર જનરલ ડૉ. પી.આર. સ્વરૂપ અને આકાર ઈન્ફોમિડીયાના મેનેજીંગ ડિરેક્ટર કમલ ખોખાણી તેમજ જીટીયુના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલર પ્રો. (ડૉ) નવીન શેઠ અને ઈન્ચાર્જ રજીસ્ટ્રાર ચિત્રાલી પરમારે કરાર પર સહિસીક્કા કર્યા હતા. આ કરારનો મૂળ હેતુ એન્જીનિયરીંગ કોર્સના અંતિમ વર્ષમાં અભ્યાસ કરતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ફરજિયાત ઈન્ટર્નશીપ કરે ત્યારે તેના કૌશલ્યોમાં એટલા પ્રમાણમાં વિકાસ થાય કે તેને રોજગારી મેળવવામાં તકલીફ ન પડે એવો છે, એમ જીટીયુના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલર પ્રો. (ડૉ) શેઠે જણાવ્યું હતું.
ડૉ. પી.આર. સ્વરૂપે એવી માહિતી આપી હતી કે ઈન્ટર્નશીપ દરમિયાન વિદ્યાર્થીઓની પ્રવૃત્તિઓ પર નજર રાખવા અને ખાસ કરીને તેઓને ઉત્પાદકતા, ગુણવત્તા, સહિસલામત કામગીરી અને વાતાવરણ સહિતના વિવિધ પરિબળો પર દેખરેખ રહે એવું યુનિવર્સિટીનું મંચ પૂરૂં પાડવા અમે આ વ્યવસ્થા કરી છે. ચારેય યુનિવર્સિટીમાં ઈન્ટર્નશીપ ટેસ્ટીંગ માટેની આ વ્યવસ્થાનો અમલ કરવા એક્શન પ્લાન ઘડી કાઢવામાં આવ્યો છે. જેનો અમલ આગામી નવમી ઓક્ટોબરથી થશે. તેના અંતર્ગત અમે મૂલ્યાંકન માટે નવી ક્રેડિટ સિસ્ટમ લાગુ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે.
