Ahmedabad: Vidushee Gargi Centre for Women Development (VGCWD) in GTU aims for overall development of women that includes faculty, staff and most importantly girl students. This center works in all related fields like training, placement, safety, health, legal awareness etc.
In this present times young girl students face problems emerging out of social pressures, family issues, economical background and peer pressures. There is a need to counsel them for de-addiction and other bad habits. Working Women and girls are in stress and depression because of demanding hard work in academics, harassment in public and work place and personnel problems.
Therefore, VGCWD has started ‘Sakhi Salah Kendra’ – a counseling centre at Government Polytechnic for Girls, Ahmedabad which is the largest girls’ institute of the state with 1800 plus girl students. This centre will provide free of charge counseling to all girls students of GTU.
This Centre will
Counsel and guide women and students to overcome their personnel and social problems
Advise them to cope with difficult situations in their important stage of life.
This centre will become ‘real friend’ for girl students and help them to become more strong and independent in their life
