GTU wins National Award in Category of Innovation in Global Collaborative Learning

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has won a prestigious award for "International Experience Program (IEP)" under the Category of "Innovation in Global Collaborative Learning" at 13th World Education Summit organized at Mumbai on 7th and 8th December 2018.

GTU is only the University who won the award in Category mentioned above in area of Higher Education Institutes in India. The award was received by Dr. Keyur Darji, Dy. Director & Head of Department of International Relations of GTU in the summit. He received the award from the hands of Dr A Ashok Secretary & Commissioner, Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana and Dr. Ravi Gupta, Founder Publisher and CEO, Elets Technomedia and Editor -in-chief, digitalLEARNING magazine. The day-one witnessed the participation from eminent edu-leaders from the Government, schools, higher education and edu-tech corporate/start-ups. The deliberations focused on the key challenges of the educational ecosystem and possible solutions to resolve them. On the last day of the summit, individuals, schools, higher education institutes and edu-tech corporate were honoured and encouraged under various categories for their exemplary contributions.

“GTU bagged the award due to its focused work on the motto - International Innovative University. International Experience Program (IEP) is one of the flagship program of GTU which provides an enriched global experience and exposure to its students since last 8 years. Based on the MoUs with more then 35 reputed universities of the world, GTU every year sends about 400 students from various branches to USA, Canada, Germany, Bulgaria and Russia under IEP since year 2011. More-then 1800 students have participated in IEP in these 8 years and shaped their future with marvelous experience of Global Education and Socio-Cultural environment of foreign countries. The award has added one more feather in the prestige and reconfiguration of IEP as well as GTU's students among the higher education institutes of India as well as abroad”, Prof.(Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU said.
