More than 4500 students participates in Maker Party

Ahmedabad: More than 4500 students participated in a Maker Party, which was organised for the first time in Gujarat. Open Source Technologies Club (OSTC) and Community Innovation & Co-Creation Centre(CiC3) of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) as well as Mozilla Gujarat organized Maker Party Gujarat at GTU and Vishwakarma Government Engineering College campus.

Maker Party is Mozilla’s annual global campaign to teach the web through hands-on learning and making. Throughout the course of events, various discussions took place that will help students how they can make better internet. Following sessions were conducted during Maker Party:

  1. Laravel Framework Web Compact

  2. Material Design

  3. Mozilla web VR / Moz VR

  4. Python

  5. Privacy & Security

  6. Campus Club

  7. Collaborative business model

  8. Chatbot

  9. IOT

  10. Flask

  11. Salesforce

GTU had introduced Open Source Technologies Clubs (OSTC), as a part of the GTU Innovation Clubs in Colleges, since 2013 and till date 90 OSTCs have been established and various activities are going on successfully under these OSTCs, all across the State. Various workshops/events on Open Source Technologies organize regularly under OSTC under the guidance of Dr. R.K. Gajjar, I/c Vice Chancellor of GTU. GTU CiC3 aims to foster innovation, research and entrepreneurship among students. This is the perfect platform for all hackers/makers/developers/students to showcase your skills, ideas, passion and connect with the visionaries, industry experts who can mentor you and help transform your ideas/projects into realities/Start-ups.
