Ahmedabad: MSME is the core sector which can be helpful in creating more and more jobs. Contribution of MSME to GDP is 16 % in India, while it is more than 70 % in Germany, Singapore, China, Taiwan. Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) will recommend government to start exclusive MSME Bank, which can be helpful to provide loans for MSME. Policy for MSME must be more lucid. This was stated by Mr. Shailesh Patwari, Sr. Vice President, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce, Ahmedabad.
He was speaking in an International Conference on “Developing Indian Economy as an Engine for Job Creation: Role of Make in India, Digital India, Start-up India and Skill India” organised by Centre for Financial Services of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) today in Ahmedabad. In key note speech, he told that He appreciated Government of Gujarat for setting up MSME Help desk and added that we have Start up India, Stand up India Desk in GCCI. Quality of products is very important in this competitive age. Gujarat is leader in Petroleum, ceramics, diamond and jewellery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, salt & all these industries are contributing more than 65% in GDP. Chinese Fireworks, Lights, Toiletry items are being sold. To protect cottage industry, selling of these Chinese goods must be stopped. Our textile industry is providing number of jobs, so we must support them. Proper education from School level is necessary and for this teachers training is must. He appreciated efforts of GTU to send students for industrial visits. Industry is implementing many suggestions of GTU students.
Dr. Rajesh Khajuria, Dean, Faculty of Management, GTU and Director, C. K. Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management, Vadodara put emphasis on challenges and opportunities in job creation and presented scenario of education system right from the Takshashila and Naland Vidyapeeth to Oxfor and Cambridge University age. Mr. Shubhro Gomes, Professor under Colombo Plan, Royal University of Bhutan, Gaeddu College of Business Studies, Bhutan gave students three buzzword of concern, commitment & action for happy life. He said that growth rate is increasing in India, but similar focus should be done on increasing per capita income, poverty elimination & increasing happiness. Only then it will be sustainable growth rate. There are not always happy ending like in Bollywood films. To make a difference, people must utilize their brain, only then they can be healthy & wealthy persons. Be a man or woman who work for cause of others, he advised.
Prof. Dr. Ingo A. R. Müller, Dean of Engineering from University of Wismar, Germany & Mr. S. Rajaram, Managing Director, Erhardt Leimer India Pvt. Ltd also expressed their opinions. Mr. D. S. Jhala, Chairman, Dev Salt Private Limited said in the conference that Indian youth is the power. Maximum job opportunities will be created by the 4 pillars of Govt. campaigns like Make in India, Digital India, Start-up India and Skill India. I feel our youth need nourishment. Why our youth are targeting public properties, government properties during agitation? Campaign like Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan can be helpful to make India neat and clean and it bring more foreign tourists also. Education is an important factor, but not must if we see examples of Industrialists Mr. G D Birla or Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani. Dynamism is necessary. Dr. Pankajray Patel, Director, GTU welcomed all.
