New National Education Policy to resolve vision of New India: CM

Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani said that the New National Education Policy 2019 being drafted by Union Government will be the base to resolve our Prime Minister’s vision of New India. Youths are the assert of Nation and to utilize them in a proper way and to build nation to resolve the vision of New India, New National Education Policy-2019 is about to become a viable medium.


Mr. Rupani added that it is for the first time after 1986 that the new Union Government has initiated to draft national education policy covering all the aspects. He addressed a group discussion of the education department organized for feedback and suggestions on the new draft education policy-2019 in Gandhinagar today. Students and Education would be the factor of focus as well as for timely changes Mr. Rupani expressed his hope to bring suggestions and feedback for the new education policy.



The Chief Minister also suggested to consider the perception of people regarding the prevailing education system and methods to keep the focus of the sustainable development in future generations. He also received responses from discussions by the education department, experts, academics throughout the day. He also made a motivating suggestion to present the responses - discussions more broadly and with accuracy.



Gujarat Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has made efforts to launch a nationwide education policy, the policy of Union Government and not of BJP Government. Prime Minister clearly stated that the process of formulating the education policy that will be supportive and decisive in the process of overall development of New India. The solution of various problems of various sectors of the society are in education.

Minister of State for Education Smt. Vibhavriben Dave said that this is the occasion to change the basics of education policy. In today’s world the knowledge of books is not only sufficient but a student should be aware about all the surrounding and happenings.



A day-long seminar on the draft of the National Education Policy-2019 was attended by well-known academics of the state, Vice Chancellors of various universities, officials of the department of education, representatives of teachers' associations, representatives of school governing bodies, guardian representatives etc.



As part of this process, the seminar was organized in the state by the state's education department today. In this seminar, a compiled report was submitted to the Government of India, on the basis of the suggestions made in respect to the National Education Policy.



The draft of the new National Education Policy, presented to the Government of India, has two sections: School Education and Higher Education. Various factors of school education include special attention on 3-year-old children, goal to educate every children of age group 3 to 6 years, implementation and expansion of education rights from 3 to 18 years, to give NCERT the responsibility of preparing an elementary child education course, children learn one foreign language at the secondary level etc. whereas in Higher Education the issue is to divide institutes of higher education in three types which include research universities, education universities and autonomous organizations for attaining college-high quality education. Education Secretary Dr. Vinod Rao delivered his occasional speech. In addition to the academics, district teachers, primary, secondary school principals, chief superintendents and officials of the education department were present in this one-day seminar.
