GTU selected for being on top rank among Universities all over the Country
Ahmedabad: National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) working under Govt. of India’s Department for Scientific & Industrial Research in Ministry of Science & Technology has selected Gujarat Technological University (GTU) as NRDC-Innovation Facilitation Centre. GTU is the only university in Gujarat to receive the permission for setting up the Centre.
Dr. H. Purushotham, Chairman & Managing Director of NRDC visited GTU Chandkheda campus on 17th May and held meeting with Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU, Bipin J. Bhatt, Registrar of GTU, Hiranmay Mahanta, Director, GTU Innovation Council and Amit Patel, Assistant Professor, IPR and explored the possibilities about the activities to be done in the upcoming Centre. An MOU is to be signed to establish the Centre at GTU. “Many proposals were received from R & D Institutions/Universities all over the Country, in which GTU’s Rank was on top. So NRDC selected GTU for the Grant-in-Aid Programme 2016-17,” Dr. Purushotham said. It is to be noted that based on the continuous efforts made by GTU in the field of IP Research and Training since inception.
“The objective of establishing the NRDC-Innovation Facilitation Centre is to promote IP & Innovation awareness and culture amongst the students, faculty, researchers and startups. Various courses have been introduced to give information of ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ and ‘Patents’ so that the students of Gujarat may not lag behind other students in any way. As a result of the tremendous efforts of the University, the students and faculty members from GTU and associated colleges have filed around 350 patents. The new NRDC-Innovation Facilitation Centre will be helpful in spreading awareness about patent & IPR. This can also be helpful to students for getting patent for their innovative projects, which can be later converted to product or service useful in solving the problems of industry and society,” Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, VC of GTU said.
NRDC will fund to file innovative technologies to be patented. NRDC will provide its mentors, skill and experience to commercialise the innovations of GTU students, faculty and colleges. Online IP content will be created in support of NRDC for the use of students as well as faculty members. GTU IP policy to be created for the growth and benefit of students, Amit Patel, Assistant Professor of IPR said.
“GTU is the pioneer to launch start-up training programmes in Gujarat. GTU received tremendous support from state government for this purpose. GTU has employed, 25 GTU Innovation Sankuls, which are working to transform the creativity of the students to fulfill the needs and expectations of the industries At present GTU is working as Nodal Institute (Agency) for disbursing financial assistance on behalf of state government,” Hiranmay Mahanta, Honorary Director of GIC said.
સ્ટાર્ટ અપ અને પેટન્ટ અંગે જનજાગૃતિ માટે જીટીયુમાં ઈનોવેશન ફેસિલીટેશન સેન્ટર સ્થપાશે
દેશભરની યુનિવર્સિટીઓમાંથી ટોચની રેન્ક પર રહેલી જીટીયુને પસંદ કરતી એનઆરડીસી
અમદાવાદઃ કેન્દ્ર સરકારના વિજ્ઞાન અને ટેકનોલોજી મંત્રાલય હેઠળના ડિપાર્ટમેન્ટ ફોર સાયન્ટીફિક એન્ડ ઈન્ડસ્ટ્રીયલ રિસર્ચના નેશનલ રિસર્ચ ડેવલપમેન્ટ કોર્પોરેશન (એનઆરડીસી) તરફથી સ્ટાર્ટ અપ અને પેટન્ટ માટે જનજાગૃતિ ફેલાવવા અંગેની કામગીરી માટેનું ઈનોવેશન ફેસિલીટેશન સેન્ટર સ્થાપવા ગુજરાત ટેકનોલોજીકલ યુનિવર્સિટી (જીટીયુ)ની પસંદગી કરવામાં આવી છે.
એનઆરડીસીના ચેરમેન અને મેનેજીંગ ડાયરેક્ટર ડૉ. એચ. પુરૂષોત્તમે 17મી મેએ જીટીયુના ચાંદખેડા કેમ્પસની મુલાકાત લીધી હતી અને જીટીયુના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલર પ્રો. (ડૉ) નવીન શેઠ, જીટીયુના રજીસ્ટ્રાર બિપીન જે. ભટ્ટ, જીટીયુ ઈનોવેશન કાઉન્સિલના માનદ નિયામક હિરણ્મય મહંતા અને આઈપીઆર વિભાગના આસિસ્ટન્ટ પ્રોફેસર અમિત પટેલ સાથે બેઠક યોજીને સૂચિત સેન્ટરમાં કેવી કેવી પ્રવૃત્તિઓ હાથ ધરવી તેના વિશે ચર્ચાવિચારણા કરી હતી. ડૉ. પુરૂષોત્તમે જણાવ્યું હતું કે સંશોધન અને વિકાસના ક્ષેત્રમાં કાર્યરત દેશભરની અનેક સંસ્થાઓ તથા યુનિવર્સિટીઓમાંથી અમને અરજીઓ મળી હતી, જેમાંથી જીટીયુ ટોચની રેન્ક પર હોવાથી અમે જીટીયુ પર પસંદગીનો કળશ ઢોળવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે. આ સેન્ટર ગ્રાન્ટ-ઈન-એઈડના ધોરણે કાર્ય કરશે. અહીં એ ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે જીટીયુની સ્થાપના થઈ ત્યારથી જ આઈપીઆર સંશોધન અને તાલીમક્ષેત્રે હાથ ધરવામાં આવી રહેલી પ્રવૃત્તિઓને ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને જીટીયુને આ રેંકીંગ પ્રાપ્ત થયા છે.
જીટીયુના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલર પ્રો. (ડૉ) નવીન શેઠે જણાવ્યું હતું કે આ સેન્ટર સ્થાપવાનો મૂળ હેતુ વિદ્યાર્થીઓ, પ્રાધ્યાપકો, સંશોધનકારો અને સ્ટાર્ટ અપને આઈપીઆર અને ઈનોવેશનને લગતી વિગતવાર જાણકારી મળી રહે તેવી વ્યવસ્થા કરવાનો છે. જીટીયુ તરફથી આઈપીઆર અને પેટન્ટને લગતા વિવિધ કોર્સ પણ શરૂ કરવામાં આવેલા છે. યુનિવર્સિટીના સઘન પ્રયાસોને પરિણામે જીટીયુ અને સંલગ્ન કૉલેજોના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ તથા પ્રાધ્યાપકો તરફથી આશરે 350 પેટન્ટ માટેની અરજીઓ કરવામાં આવી છે. હવે આ નવા સેન્ટરની સ્થાપના થતાં પેટન્ટ અને આઈપીઆર બાબતે જનજાગૃતિ ફેલાવવામાં મદદ મળશે. જેથી તેઓના ઈનોવેટીવ પ્રોજેક્ટોનું પ્રોડક્ટો કે સર્વિસમાં રૂપાંતર થઈ શકે.
એનઆરડીસી પેટન્ટ માટે અરજી કરવામાં આવનાર હોય એવી ઈનોવેટીવ ટેકનોલોજીની અરજી માટે ભંડોળ આપશે. તે ઉપરાંત આઈપીઆરની તાલીમ આપનારા અનુભવી નિષ્ણાતો પણ પૂરા પાડશે. જીટીયુના વિદ્યાર્થીઓના ઈનોવેટીવ પ્રોજેક્ટોનું કોમર્શિયલાઈઝેશન કરવામાં પણ એનઆરડીસી મદદ કરશે. વિદ્યાર્થીઓ અને પ્રાધ્યાપકોના લાભાર્થે આઈપીઆરની ઓનલાઈન વિગતો પણ તૈયાર કરવામાં આવશે. જીટીયુ ખાસ આઈપી નીતિ ઘડી કાઢશે, એમ આઈપીઆર વિભાગના આસિસ્ટન્ટ પ્રોફેસર અમિત પટેલે જણાવ્યું હતું. બીજી બાજુ જીટીયુ ઈનોવેશન કાઉન્સિલના માનદ નિયામક હિરણ્મય મહંતાએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે ગુજરાતમાં સ્ટાર્ટ અપ તાલીમ કાર્યક્રમો શરૂ કરવામાં જીટીયુનો સિંહફાળો છે. અમને ગુજરાત સરકાર તરફથી પણ ભરપૂર સહયોગ પ્રાપ્ત થયો છે.
