Ahmedabad: Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (Ahmedabad Chapter), Engineering Council of India (Ahmedabad Centre), Builders Association of India and Government Polytechnic(Ahmedabad) jointly organized a Workshop on Engineering Skill. Many experts from industries and academia gave important tips to Polytechnic students.
Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) addressed students and faculty members with his motivating speech. He talked about the great Indian history and rewritten history. He inspired audience to think about India First. He suggested student to rewrite great Indian history with their innovation. There is growing need of bridging the gap between Academia and Industry in modern times. GTU has already implemented outcome based curriculum for the Polytechnic. Now its institute’s call to deliver it.
Experts Er. Girish Singhai – Key Note Speaker / Workshop Coordinator / Chief Coordinator – Engineering Council of India, ER. Jignesh Patel –CMD, Khodiyar CAD Center, Er. Nimesh Patel – GC Member Builder association of India and Er. Anand V Dave – Secretary – Association of Consulting Civil Engineers India Gujarat Chapter gave valuable tips to the students. Singhai presented outline of the course. He gave various suggestions for bridging the gap between industries and academia. He raised few concerned to the honourable VC and appealed him to keep industry in the center in outcome based curriculum.
Dr. G.P. Vadodaria, Principal, LDCE, Ahmedabad pointed out errors of the engineers on real ground. He asked students to increase their fundamental knowledge and practicability of their knowledge on the field. He added that academia has enough potential to cope up with industries and it will be delivered for sure.
Prof. P.M. Patel, Principal, Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad felt obliged to VC for his visit at the campus and added that it will fill polytechnic with new great energy. He said polytechnic students have lots of room for transformation and they will deliver for the state and the nation. Er. Girishbhai Singhai took the first session in workshop series. He shared his expert views over modern construction and its principles. He has insight on various types of construction methods, its need and relevance. He checked student’s fundamental knowledge of theory and then swiftly connected them to industry. Presentation was lucid and full of information. He answered faculty and students query in the end of the session. Mr. Nandu Fatak, I/C HOD – IT anchored the event. Dr. A.K. Patel presented vote of thanks.
ઉદ્યોગ તથા શિક્ષણજગતના નિષ્ણાતોએ પોલિટેકનિકના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એન્જીનિયરીંગ કૌશલ્યોની ટીપ્સ આપી
અમદાવાદઃ એસોસિયેશન ઑફ કન્સલ્ટીંગ સિવીલ એન્જીનિયર્સ (અમદાવાદ ચેપ્ટર), એન્જીનિયરીંગ કાઉન્સિલ ઑફ ઈન્ડિયા (અમદાવાદ ચેપ્ટર), બિલ્ડર્સ એસોસિયેશન ઑફ ઈન્ડિયા અને ગવર્નમેન્ટ પોલિટેકનિક (અમદાવાદ)ના સંયુક્ત ઉપક્રમે ખાસ વર્કશોપનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું, જેમાં ઉદ્યોગ તથા શિક્ષણજગતના નિષ્ણાતોએ પોલિટેકનિકના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એન્જીનિયરીંગ કૌશલ્યો વિશે ટીપ્સ આપી હતી.
ગુજરાત ટેકનોલોજીકલ યુનિવર્સિટી (જીટીયુ)ના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલર પ્રો. (ડૉ) નવીન શેઠે પોલિટેકનિકની મુલાકાત લીધી હતી અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ તથા પ્રાધ્યાપકોને સંબોધન કર્યું હતું. તેમણે ભારતના ગૌરવશાળી ઈતિહાસની વાત કરી હતી અને પ્રેરણાદાયક વક્તવ્ય આપ્યું હતું. તેમણે એવું સૂચન કર્યું હતું કે વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ઈનોવેશનની મદદથી ભારતીય ઈતિહાસનું નવું પ્રકરણ લખવું જોઈએ. બદલાતા સમયમાં ઉદ્યોગો અને શિક્ષણ વચ્ચે સંબંધોનો સેતુ વધારે મજબૂત બનાવવાની આવશ્યકતા છે. જીટીયુએ પોલિટેકનિકના વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એન્જીનિયરીંગનું જ્ઞાન મળી રહે એવો અભ્યાસક્રમ બનાવ્યો છે, હવે બાકીનું કામ વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ કરવાનું છે.
વર્કશોપમાં માર્ગદર્શન પૂરૂં પાડનાર નિષ્ણાતોમાં એન્જીનિયરીંગ કાઉન્સિલ ઑફ ઈન્ડિયાના ગિરીશ સિંઘાઈ, એસોસિયેશન ઑફ કન્સલ્ટીંગ સિવીલ એન્જીનિયર્સના આનંદ દવે, બિલ્ડર્સ એસોસિયેશન ઑફ ઈન્ડિયાના નિમેશ પટેલ અને ખોડિયાર કેડ સેન્ટરના જીજ્ઞેશ પટેલ સહિતના અગ્રણીઓનો સમાવેશ થતો હતો. સિંઘાઈએ કોર્સની વિગતો આપી હતી. તેમણે ઉદ્યોગો અને શિક્ષણ વચ્ચેની ખાઈ ઘટાડવા માટેના વિવિધ સૂચનો કર્યો હતા. તેમણે જીટીયુના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલરને અભ્યાસક્રમના કેન્દ્રસ્થાને ઉદ્યોગોની પ્રવૃત્તિઓને રાખવા અનુરોધ કર્યો હતો.
એલ.ડી. એન્જીનિયરીંગ કૉલેજના પ્રિન્સીપાલ ડૉ. જી.પી. વડોદરીયાએ વાસ્તવિક જીવનમાં એન્જીનિયરો કેવી કેવી ભૂલો કરે છે તે સચોટ ઉદાહરણો સાથે સમજાવ્યું હતું. તેમણે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને પાયાની જાણકારી અને પ્રેક્ટીકલ જ્ઞાન બંનેમાં પૂરતા પ્રમાણમાં ધ્યાન આપવાની જરૂરિયાત પર ભાર મૂક્યો હતો. તેમણે વધુમાં ઉમેર્યું હતું કે ઉદ્યોગોની જરૂરિયાતોને પહોંચી વળવાની ક્ષમતા શિક્ષણમાં છે. તે બાબતને ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને આ કાર્યક્રમનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવી રહ્યું છે.
સરકારી પોલિટેકનિકના પ્રિન્સીપાલ પ્રો. પી.એમ. પટેલે જણાવ્યું હતું કે જીટીયુના વાઈસ ચાન્સેલરે આ સંસ્થાની મુલાકાત લેતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં નવી ચેતનાનો સંચાર થયો છે અને તેમના વક્તવ્યથી વિદ્યાર્થીઓને પ્રેરણા મળી છે. પોલિટેકનિકના વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાં પણ ઘણી ક્ષમતા છે, જેના ઉપયોગથી દેશહિતમાં અનેક કાર્યો થઈ શકે તેમ છે. કાર્યક્રમનું સંચાલન આઈટી વિભાગના વડા નંદુ ફાટકે કર્યું હતું. સંસ્થા વતી ડૉ. એ.કે. પટેલે આભારવિધિ કરી હતી.
