School children learn the basic lesson of start-up & entrepreneurship at GTU

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) conducted Science workshop at GTU as a part of Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA). The Program was held on 28th July- 29th July 2016 (in memory of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who has left the world on 27th July 2015) at ACPC campus of GTU. The programme was be attended by more than 60 Students and 3 Teachers of Shree Swaminarayan International School, Ranip, Ahmedabad.

RAA programme was launched on 9th July, 2015 by late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India at New Delhi for School Students of 9th ,10th ,11th & 12th standard with four Teachers. The Focus of this Programme was to nurture a spirit of enquiry and creativity, love for science and mathematics, and to encourage those children who show an inclination and talent for these subjects so that they can excel in these.

The aim of the program was to aware students about recent technologies and to provide hands on experience of Electronic components. The Contents of the Workshop were: Basic Electronic Components, Basic Arduino hardware & software embedded c programming, Different types of sensors & controllers, Vinyl cutter, how to assemble the 3-D PRINTER, High END 3- D printer, Start-up awareness, Start-up activities at GTU.

Benefits of Workshop to Student:

  1. Awareness about recent technologies

  2. Hands-on experience of recent technologies

  3. Awareness about different engineering Stream. This will help students interested in engineering field

  4. Start-up awareness: Creation of entrepreneurial thinkers who also have the skills and tools to start their own businesses.
