Smart India Hackathon winners  8 teams from Gujarat felicitated

Ahmedabad: As a part of hon. PM’s Digital India mission, Ministry of HRD, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) recently organised the Smart India Hackathon 2017 for solving the challenges faced by our country. In Smart India Hackathon 2017, 303 teams applied from Gujarat (7500 national) from which 68 (out of 1200) were selected in final event, out of which these 8 teams from Gujarat got final award. Maximum numbers among winner teams were from Gujarat Technological University (GTU). Government of Gujarat appreciated the efforts made in the direction of innovation and 8 teams were felicitated by Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, hon. Minister of Education on 10th April, 2017.

For Smart India Hackathon 42,000 applications were received from students of 2183 colleges. Maximum applications came from Tamilnadu and Maharashtra, while Gujarat was on 5th place. Out of them 10,000 students were selected for the Hackathon. On the other hand 29 ministries identified their 598 problems. Smart India Hackathon 2017 became the ‘world’s biggest open innovation model’.
