Students of L.M. College of Pharmacy tops at National level in NIPER JEE

Ahmedabad: Two students of L.M. College of Pharmacy affiliated with Gujarat Technological University (GTU) have achieved place in top 20 of NIPER, JEE exams held at Mohali. The exam was conducted for admission in M.Pharm. in the prestigious National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), which is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences.

Iyer Jayant Chidambaran, a student of L. M. College of Pharmacy, affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1st in NIPER JEE 2016 exams held at NIPER, Mohali. He was ranked 8th in national level GPAT-2016 exam. He scored 8.41CGPA in end semester exam conducted by GTU.

Goel Rajat Sanjay, a student of L. M. College of Pharmacy, affiliated to Gujarat Technological University, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 18th in NIPER JEE 2016 exams held at NIPER, Mohali. He was ranked 52nd  in national level GPAT-2016 exam. He scored 8.32 CGPA in end semester exam conducted by GTU.

Since last 3 years, GTU has started efforts to bridge gap between Pharma academia and industry. In line of this, GTU has signed MoU with IDMA-GSB and GAAMA. Further, in last 3 years, GTU has organized 5 centralized Placement Fair for Pharmacy students, wherein cumulatively 150+ Pharma companies have participated and short listed more than 1300+ fresher D. Pharm, B. Pharm and M. Pharm students. In last placement fair, number of jobs available were 25% more than available candidates. Students showing interest to join Pharmacy program has increased since last 2 years. Last year 42.5 % admissions have been increased, while this year almost 9000 forms of B. Pharm has been filled by students as compare to 4514 seats available. This indicates complete resurgence of Pharmacy branch at state level due to dedicated efforts of Pharmacy team.

Further, student of GTU are also showing their potential at national level examination too, which is evident by success of two students, Iyer Jayant Chidambaran and Goel Rajat Sanjay of LM College of Pharmacy, who secured All India Rank 1st and 18th in examination conducted by NIPER, Mohali.
