136 students got gold medals: 54 students achieved PhD
Ahmedabad: Gujarat Technological University (GTU) conferred Degree and Diploma to 66,000 students in 8th annual convocation. The ceremony was held on 31st January, 2019 at Mahatma Mandir Gandhinagar. GTU is organizing the convocation ceremony every year.
Total 42,085 students received bachelor degree, 6197 students got master’s degree, 17,898 students got the diploma, 54 students PhD degree. In undergraduate level, highest 39,747 students got the bachelor of engineering degree, while 17,683 students got Diploma in Engineering. In pharmacy segment, 1392 B pharm students and 434 M pharm students got the degrees. The convocation also included 80 students diploma in pharmacy. In business management segment, 2711 students got MBA degree, while 406 students got BBA degree.
If we see the analysis of statistics
of degree awarded students, the year 2017 with total 95,676 was the highest figure
in the history of GTU. Year 2018 the figure was 80,784, paris in the year 2016
number of students who got degree and diploma were 73,827 and the number was
62,687 in the year 2014.
Total 138 students achieved gold medals. 33
students of BE, 28 students of Diploma engineering and 41 students from ME got
the Gold medal. 13 M. Pharm students got the gold medal, while in B.Pharm only
2 students could achieve the Gold medal. This year 6 MBA students also became
successful in achieving the Gold medal.
