Two professors achieved GTU Tech Guru Awards for Excellence

Teachers are respected the most in the society. There is no occasion is needed to respect them yet on September 5, in remembrance of The President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishan we celebrate teacher's day every year. GTU celebrated this day in a special way. Gujarat Technological University has more than 450 colleges. Approx more than 17000 teachers are working in the colleges which are affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University. To appreciate the teachers' noble work they are honoured with the award of the 'Tech Guru.' Teachers of different subjects were awarded on September 5 2019, with a special programme.

Nomination for this awards are asked from GTU teachers themselves. 2 entries are selected from 1200 entries asked under a specific procedure. To get a nomination for this award teachers had provided their information about research works, patents, details of Swayam course, their research publication, research projects, and collaboration projects. Jury has selected teachers according to this information. Jury appointed by GTU included retired principals from various schools, professors and directors.

Name and course of the awarded professors-

  1. Dr. Hitesh Navinchandra Panchal, government engineering college, Patan (assistant professor , engineering)

  2. Dr. Aneeta Arunkumar Mehta, L M pharmacy college ( professor pharmacy)

Honourable Governor Shri Vajubhai Vala said addressing the programme that " this is an occasion of happiness. Gujaratis must live with their happy go lucky nature but also must develop their simple living and high thinking philosophy since their childhood. It is said in our culture "Guna ha pujyante"- meaning, intelligence must be praised. Even Chanakya used to say that not the Eldest but the Best must b praised When you are progressing towards knowledge, two things must be left behind - addiction and fashion. The more simple life helps more progressing in life.

On this occasion Honourable Education Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasma had said, Today is not an ordinary day. It’s a birthday of the President who had been nominated for 27 different noble prizes. Though when it was first time said to Dr. Radhakrishna to celebrate his birthday, he had said that I am a teacher first and then a president. My birthday must be celebrated as a teacher's day. Today is the day of social teacher hood. Merit is maintained where there is a competition. Merit helps quality to be improvised. On this day by appreciating merit of teachers, GTU has progressed in a direction of having qualified teachers.

Prof.(Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice-Chancellor of GTU said that the way professors are working for the students, they must be respected. And this programme is arranged specifically for this purpose only. We are very much pleased handing over this award.
